Theres no other country that embodies the bridge between West and East as clearly as Belarus. Located in the geographical center of Europe, it offers the most attractive conditions and feed-in tariffs in Eastern Europe. Domestic renewable energy sources are also to be expanded to a greater extent in the future, in order to reduce dependence on foreign energy imports.
Belarus’ own energy resources are sufficient for almost 20% of the country’s total needs, which is why Belarus covers them mainly through energy imports from abroad. Therefore, the government passed a state “energy efficiency” program, which provides for increased coverage of demand with domestic energy resources and with the greatest possible consideration of regenerative energies.
This subsidy system is based on a feed-in tariff for electricity from renewable energies that is above the regular market price.
